The “2nd Quality Peer Sharing” event is held on 7 May 2025 at the Germiyanoğlu Yakup Bey Conference Hall of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Kütahya Dumlupınar University.

Organized for the second time by the Quality Coordination Office to promote the sharing of experiences in quality and accreditation processes, the event aims to disseminate good practices among academic units.

The opening speech of the event is delivered by University Quality Coordinator Dr. Figen Karaferye.

In her speech, Dr. Karaferye provides information about the activities carried out within the scope of the Institutional Accreditation Program (IAP) of the Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) and explains how unit-level accreditations contribute to the university’s quality assurance system. She also shares details about the simultaneous unit visits and meetings planned by the Coordination Office to strengthen the Unit Internal Evaluation Report (BIDR) processes, which are among the key requirements of the IAP process.

Following the opening, the Rector of Kütahya Dumlupınar University, Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak, emphasizes the strategic importance of quality and accreditation processes for the university and expresses the value placed on these efforts. He highlights that these processes play a decisive role not only in institutional development but also in the academic staffing structure and student admission processes of the units. Rector Kızıltoprak congratulates the Departments of Chemistry at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Coaching Education at the Faculty of Sport Sciences for successfully completing their accreditation, and he states that similar achievements are expected from all academic units.

During the event, a two-session presentation is delivered by Prof. Dr. Cengiz Yenikaya, Head of the Department of Chemistry, in which he discusses in detail the accreditation process of the Chemistry Undergraduate Program of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, which is accredited on 11 April 2023. Prof. Dr. Yenikaya explains the preparations, practices, and sustainability efforts related to the accreditation process and provides information about ENQA, TÜRKAK, THEQC, FEDEK, and the qualification frameworks for quality assurance in higher education (EQF, NQF, TQF, TYYÇ).

In the presentation, examples of program-level practices—particularly those related to the sub-criteria of teaching and learning, such as program outcomes, learning outcomes, assessment and evaluation processes, stakeholder participation, and monitoring mechanisms—are shared with supporting documentation. In the second part of the event, an interactive question–answer session is held, during which participants direct their questions.

The event is found highly productive by participants and contributes significantly to the establishment of a quality culture at the university and the effective implementation of quality and accreditation processes.
